Vestibular Concern

Last two evaluations had to re-take, because of an unexpected low score and variance on #5 on the posturography. I had a chance to run the "ENG" reports (the score sheet) by 1Kids's primary care physician. I initially made the appointment as last assessment he about passed out up there. Suspected blood sugar drop/dehydration. Anyway, PCP's take on the scores was "although he does have evidence to suggest equilibrium abnormalities on testing he is asymptomatic. This test is typically used to diagnose vertigo related disorders and if concerning then brain imaging could be considered. Yet he does not have any vertigo symptoms and had a normal CT scan of the brain in August of 2005. We could repeat these here if interested as well as consider an MRI of the brain yet based on last visit do not see a need to do so at this time." Whew! It's just all very strange. I called the Dore Center to ask about it, and his counselor said that he was borderline with having been assigned the mental tasks at the first wonky assessment. If his NEXT assessment is strange, he will likely go back to exercises without mental tasks. He also has an appointment soon with a vision physician who will also look into why he has been having the "mini-blackouts." I am left wondering if we are on the medical system rabbit trail or if there is something that needs to be uncovered.
